Who he is
He is not a rider who found a helmet. The helmet is the whole of him.
Nobody built the man underneath, because there is not one. The magenta line across the visor is the only light he has ever needed to see by. Nobody has seen him take the helmet off, because there is nothing under it to show you.
He turns up in the half second after a near miss you do not remember having, in the empty lane that opens right before you needed it to. He does not have a hometown. He has an on ramp.
The sound
Built for a three in the morning empty highway.
No clean vocal takes. Every line arrives chopped, doubled, and half a beat behind itself. He does not sing to you. He turns up having already said it.
